Special Service Supply and Modification Examples:

Encana, Inga Site (BC) / Enerflux, Lakusta reciprocating compressor application. We imported a new stocked 60hp, 1200rpm, 4160V, WPII, Teco Motor and performed the following modifications:

  • Replaced the shaft with 4140 steel, keyless version
  • Supplied the Shaft profile from the replacement with tensile and yeild data for torsional analysis
  • The new shaft was specified with machined steps at 0.05"
  • Replaced bearing & Stator RTD's with Type J thermocouples
  • Replaced 300W spave heater with 200W for Div 2 Atmoshere
  • Special epxoy coated Cu bar Rotor and Tinned the leads for H2S service
  • Supplied a 4160V, Nema 12 Motortronics Soft Starter
  • All the above was performed and delivered in 10 working days for the date of PO to the compressor OEM.
  • The overall costs were competitivedespite the fact that they were stock items

CNRL, Primrose Site

CNRL had THIRTY new Siemens motors to be special modified for 4:1 CT VFD Turndown. No kits were available so we performed the following:

  • Analysis of the Air flow required to cool the motor properly while maintaining the T-code for the Div 2 area.
  • Design and special build a fan shroud extension with mounting solutions sensitive to fragile grill strength.
  • Source and manufacture 30 of a special pitched non-sparking aluminium fans.
  • With a reduced HP for weight considerations, supply 30 XP, 3ph, 575V, 56C frame, 1 HP Marathon Motors.
  • Design and special build 30 non-sparking aluminium shaft extensions for the Blower motors.
  • Match the Siemens paint, mount and test run all 30 kits on site.
  • The CNRL Primrose site requires unique staff insurance levels and orientation due to the military location.
  • All the above was performed and concluded within 6 weeks pf receipt of order.
